New Hearing Aid Cost

Big Announcement! New Hearing Aid Cost

In Audiology by Kerry Ward

To lower the cost of hearing aids for patients and to increase transparency around such an important investment, BHSC has unbundled its pricing. In a traditional “bundled” model of pricing, several hearing health care components are rolled up, or “bundled” together with the price of the hearing aid into one price per ear.

This bundled methodology typically includes not only the price of the hearing aids, but also the hearing aid evaluation and selection, the fitting & orientation (the dispensing of the hearing aid), other procedures that provide objective measures and allow the most accurate programming for the patient needs, and 3 years of follow up care. BHSC has chosen to “unbundle” or to itemize the costs for the different portions of your treatment and care around choosing and adopting hearing technology. Patients can now easily see what they are paying for in terms of the professional care versus the actual hearing aid device.

Overall, pricing in this model has resulted in lower overall costs to the patient for the same technology and services. As a not-for-profit, BHSC’s mission has always prioritized the needs of the patient, and access to the highest quality hearing health care for all. Our audiologists do not receive any commissions based on sales and work hard to make sure you are getting the best care, the best technology.
