Brianna Dobmeier, Au.D., CCC-A

Audiologist

Brianna Dobmeier, AuD CCC-A graduated from the University at Buffalo in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in both Speech and Hearing Science and Spanish. She went on to receive her Doctorate in Audiology from UB in 2017. She completed her 4th year externship at Hearing Evaluation Services. Brianna worked in the Buffalo community following graduation with a love for the pediatric population. She joined the Center in June of 2021 and is happy to finally have found her home at Buffalo Hearing and Speech. Brianna is excited to continue her journey with both pediatric and adult populations, specializing in ABR testing and hearing aid fittings.

Brianna resides in Tonawanda with her husband and German Shorthaired Pointer. She enjoys working out, all things Buffalo Bills, playing volleyball and spending time with her family in her spare time.

Michelle Dubé, M.S.Ed, CCC-A

Audiologist

Michelle Dubé, M.S.Ed, CCC-A received both her Bachelor and Masters Degrees from the State University of New York at Fredonia. Ms. Dubé started her audiology career in Florida where she worked for an otolaryngology clinic. She moved back to Buffalo in 2004 and has been employed by Buffalo Hearing and Speech ever since. Ms. Dubé is part of the Cochlear Implant Team that provides services to both pediatric and adult populations. She is also the head audiologist in the BHSC Oral Deaf Education classrooms. Her other specialties are pediatrics, ABRs, hearing aids, and diagnostic evaluations. In addition she has served as clinical supervisor for 4th year AuD students.

Ms. Dubé currently lives in Lockport with her husband and two sons. Ms. Dube has been working at Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center since 2004.

Ashley Eisen Graney, Au.D, CCC-A

Audiologist

Ashley is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Madison (B.A. in Communicative Disorders and Sciences), and the University of Buffalo (M.A. and Au.D. in Audiology).

Dr. Graney is thrilled to have achieved a goal she has been striving for since early in her undergraduate career, working with both adult and pediatric populations and specializing in ABR and hearing aid fittings. Ashley believes in a holistic approach to patient care. The hearing test alone does not decide treatment; health, cognition, processing, family support, social life, mental health and budget all play a role in deciding the appropriate course of action for each patient. Ashley’s true passion is helping her patients obtain the best quality of life possible.

Dr. Graney currently resides in Williamsville with her husband, two children, and Portuguese Water Dog. She enjoys running, skiing, and yoga in her free time. She also has an interest in the ever-changing world of fashion, which in turn fuels her bargain shopping habit. Dr. Graney has been working at Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center since 2009.

Katrina Makey, Au.D.

Audiologist

Katrina Makey, Au.D. CCC/A, received her Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Hearing Science in 2009 from the University at Buffalo. She then went on to receive the Doctorate of Audiology in 2013, also from The University at Buffalo. While in graduate school, she completed a rotation at Buffalo Hearing and Speech Center. She completed her 4th year Au.D. externship at the Buffalo VA Medical Center. Dr. Makey holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed through New York State as an Audiologist and as a hearing aid dispenser. She has worked at Buffalo Hearing and Speech Center since graduating in 2013. Dr. Makey specializes in diagnostic audiological evaluations and hearing aid fittings.

Dr. Makey currently resides with her husband, two children and their dog. She enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.

Caitlin Marczewski, Au.D.

Audiologist

Caitlin Marczewski, Au.D, received her Bachelors of Science in Communicative Disorders and Sciences from SUNY Geneseo in 2008. Upon graduating, she worked for as a hearing aid dispenser in a private practice. After realizing her need for more education, Caitlin completed her doctorate in Audiology at Towson University in Maryland. Her completed thesis, “Survey of Auditory Processing Protocols and Perceptions of Speech-Language Pathologists in Comparison with Perceptions of Audiologists” was presented at the American Speech Language and Hearing Association conference in 2013. While in Maryland, Caitlin completed clinical rotations at Johns Hopkins, University of Maryland Medical Center and St. Agnes Hospital. She specializes in both audiologic and vestibular evaluations, Auditory Processing evaluations as well as hearing aid fittings.

Caitlin resides in South Buffalo with her two Maine Coon cats. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, mountain biking, skiing or gardening. She is also a member of Sombra de la Luna flamenco.

Michelle L. Miller, M.A., CCC/A

Audiologist

Michelle L. Miller, M.A., CCC/A currently works in the Williamsville satellite office. She received a bachelors of science degree in Communication Disorders and Sciences from Buffalo State College in 1998, and a master of arts degree in Audiology from the University of Buffalo in 2001. Mrs. Miller specializes in amplification with the geriatric population, tinnitus management, as well as Auditory Processing Disorder evaluations. She has been a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association since January of 2002. Mrs. Miller’s article “Turn the Volume Down” was published in Western New York Family Magazine in August of 2007.

Michelle Miller currently resides in Kenmore and enjoys spending time with her husband, Anthony, and son, Nathan. In her spare time, she enjoys baking. Michelle began working here at Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center in 1999 as an audiology student, and we are glad to have had her return in 2003 as an audiologist.

Julia Murak, Au.D. CCC-A

Audiologist

Julia Murak, Au.D. CCC-A graduated from Le Moyne College in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology minor. She went on to receive her Doctorate in Audiology from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2017. Julia completed her 4th year externship at Buffalo Hearing and Speech Center and continued on as a clinical audiologist following graduation. She enjoys working with both pediatric and adult patients and finds getting to know her patients and their unique circumstances to be the most fulfilling aspect of her profession.
Julia is from East Aurora, but currently resides in Buffalo. Julia enjoys everything Western New York has to offer, from the beautiful four seasons to the variety of food and entertainment. She is a proud Buffalo Bills season ticket holder and knows that this year they are going all the way.

Averill Paes, Au.D.

Audiologist

Averill Paes, Au.D. , has been an audiologist for the past 20 years, having graduated in 1992 with her Master’s of Science from the University of British Columbia in Canada and her doctoral degree from Salus University in 2008. She has worked in private practice clinics, as well as hospital clinics, in both Canada and the United States. Dr. Paes has had the pleasure of seeing patients at Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center for the past five years and enjoys all aspects of her work including auditory processing, tinnitus management, speech reading, vestibular testing, amplification and diagnostics. She is especially committed to lifelong learning. She maintains membership with the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and the Canadian Association of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologist (CASLPA). She is also Board Certified with the American Board of Audiology (ABA) and holds her New York State hearing aid dispensing license. Dr. Paes has been working at Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center since 2007.

Dr. Paes lives in Amherst with her husband and two teenage daughters. She stays active by continually learning new skills. Currently she is learning to play the guitar and piano. She is also an avid knitter, seamstress, and culinarian.

Marie Ryan, M.A. CCC-A

Audiologist

Marie Ryan, M.A. CCC-A, received both her Bachelor and Masters Degrees from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She currently serves as the Supervisor of Audiological Services at Buffalo Hearing and Speech Center. During her tenure she has served in such capacities as the coordinator of audiology services in the nursing homes and the coordinator of a community based senior screening program. Ms. Ryan is an accredited Occupational Hearing Conservationist through the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC). Ms. Ryan serves as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor in the Speech Language and Hearing Clinic at the University of New York at Buffalo and has been actively involved in various professional organizations. She has been the multiple recipient of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Associations’ Award for Continuing Education (ACE). Ms. Ryan is currently on the teaching faculty of Canisius College in the graduate program for Deaf Education. In addition to her direct supervision of the audiology staff, Ms. Ryan specializes in Auditory Processing Evaluations, diagnostic audiology services and hearing aid services.

Ms. Ryan currently resides in West Seneca with her husband and two daughters. Ms. Ryan has been working at Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center since 1997.

Alison Ulatowski, Au.D.

Audiologist

Alison Ulatowski, Au.D., graduated from James Madison University in 2006 and received her Au.D. from The University at Buffalo in 2010. Dr. Ulatowski has been with Buffalo Hearing and Speech Center since 2007. As a graduate student, she worked at the Buffalo Hearing and Speech Center as the Audiology Clinic Aide. Dr. Ulatowski completed her 4th Year Au.D. Externship at the Buffalo Hearing and Speech Center and has been working as an Audiologist since 2010. Dr. Ulatowski holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (AHSA) and has served as clinical supervisor for 4th year Au.D. graduate students from the University at Buffalo. Dr. Ulatowski currently resides in Buffalo and enjoys biking and outdoor activities in her spare time. Dr. Ulatowski is known for her stylish taste in professional footwear.

Kristine Weinert, Au.D.

Audiologist

Kristine Weinert, Au.D. began her career at Nazareth College of Rochester where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders and Sciences. She continued her education at the University at Buffalo and received her Au.D. in 2014. Kristine completed her 4th year Externship at Buffalo Hearing and Speech Center, where she continued as a Doctor of Audiology following graduation. She enjoys all areas of Audiology, including specialized testing (ABRs, tinnitus management and Auditory Processing evaluations) as well as amplification and diagnostics for all ages.

Dr. Weinert currently resides in Corfu with her husband and two young children Henry and Mabel. She enjoys being outside, gardening, cooking, running, spending time with her family and rooting for the Bills and Sabres!
