Aide – Classroom or One-on-One

Major Responsibilities

1. Assist with the management of the children and classroom
2. Assist with the organizing and implementing developmentally appropriate activities under the direction of the classroom teacher and team
3. Maintain a healthy and safe classroom environment
4. Attend to the special and specific needs of the children
5. Assist with breakfast/lunch preparation and implementation
6. Escort children safely upon arrival and dismissal

Education and Experience Requirements

1. High school diploma or G. E. D.
2. Experience as a classroom aide in a preschool or daycare setting
3. Ability to employ behavior management techniques in a classroom situation
4. Basic knowledge of Developmentally Appropriate Practice
5. Able to work as a team member with classroom staff and consultants
6. Knowledge of confidentiality and the needs of a special population
7. Demonstrated strong work ethic, dependability, and flexibility
